Andy started the meeting by showing everyone a swarm that had flown in at 2pm that afternoon and landed in a tree above his veg patch. As it had just settled down we left it till the end of the meeting to catch.

He then did 1 hour of talk, showing peope the polystyrene hives which he is trialing, then went through all the equipment he has acumulated, plus the clubs extractor. We also did a session on frame assembly.

We then split into small groups, so every novice had a mentor, this meant we could get the new starters doing hive inspections, this worked really well and results were posted on the pictured chart.

We then gathered up the swarm and put into a spare hive.

An excellent day all round.
