25 members turned up to the meeting hosted by our secretary Joy Rich. The weather was rather mixed but by 2pm there was a slot when the wind died down and it was sunny and hot.
| Joy has only one hive so we wasted no time in getting on with the inspection. John Wills, as an extremely experienced beekeeper was asked to conduct the inspection and he explained to the new members how to examine a frame and what the frame contained. It was warm enough to allow the members to handle the frames for a reasonable time. There was a new queen and she was identified and marked. |

As Joy had lost the previous queen she had been given a frame of brood from Pat Norris to see if we could stimulate the creation of a new queen. This frame was not a Hoffman so to get the spacing right plastic ends had to be used demonstrating the need to give the bees the corect amount of room. By this time the rain arrived and everyone retired to the house for tea.
Many thanks to Joy for hosting this event.
